Before we talk about that, thank you. We're sure you remember starting out on your new venture, whether it be as a driving instructor or in some other business. We do - and we remember how little support we had, but we also remember those that helped us grow, succeed and challenged us to be better!

Historically associations and individuals have been DVSA focussed. Since the start of lockdown we think the DVSA have made the position very clear. They are keen to clarify the lines and the responsibility that they have to ADIs. We acknowledge that, and are happy to work with them, but our focus is outwards. Focussing on the front line - the instructors, their businesses and their customers.

Are we anti-association? Quite the opposite, in fact one of our core values is that all instructors should have national representation. The question is which one do you sign up for? What are the options? What do they stand for? What do they offer me? Our list of associations - both National and Local will help answer those questions for you.

Are we anti-franchise? No! But we are anti old style instructor traps that don’t champion the ADIs who represent them. We run a driving school, and the Instructors we work with were our first members. We succeed together, through the highs, lows, and pandemics.

Are we all about teaching Learners? No, because the green badge doesn’t stop there. We want to develop opportunities in CPD, career progression, and developing new skills. The DITC will be the home of choice, education and empowerment.

But we want to be honest - These things take time. We have rapidly realised that we can’t have a Collective without collecting. First members like you, businesses and offers. Then momentum, traction and success. There are lots of things happening behind the scenes, and we want your ideas, opportunities and insights.

• The DITC Members badge (Anyone joining in July gets a GOLD founder member badge!) to display on your website, social media, or lock screen on your mobile!
• Other badges - driving schools/franchise provider, CPD provider, industry supplier, trainer, association, startup
• Sector Specialists - We are in contact with some incredibly knowledgable people. We are building them into a network of resources to support you. Disability driving, PDIs, Emotional well-being, and much more. These specialists will give you an insight in to what they do and how it can benefit you, your pupils and your business.
• Mental Health Support - We want to unite a number of mental health schemes so you know who to call if you or a pupil needs help. COVID is not the only killer we have faced in 2020, and there is great work being done for when you or a colleague needs it. We will share our stories, and welcome others to share theirs.

Future plans?
